Restructure the monorepo into clear top-level directories: - backend/: Go module root (cmd, internal, pkg, configs, migrations, docs/swagger, scripts, tests, go.mod, Makefile, .air.toml) - deploy/: Docker (Dockerfile, docker-compose*), quickstart, fluentd - docs/: project documentation + reports/ (moved from repo root) - AGENTS.md: new AI coding-agent guide at repo root Update all references to the new layout: - Dockerfile: COPY backend/go.mod, COPY backend/ (context = repo root) - docker-compose files: context ../.., dockerfile deploy/docker/Dockerfile, env_file ../../.env, volume mounts ../../backend:/app - deploy/quickstart/compose.yaml: dockerfile deploy/docker/Dockerfile - CI: working-directory: backend for go commands, file deploy/docker/Dockerfile, coverage path backend/coverage.out, health_check backend/scripts/ - backend/Makefile: docker target uses -f ../deploy/docker/Dockerfile ../ - README: architecture tree, quickstart, config paths updated Move root stray scripts (rename_models.*, run_m11_tests.sh, verify_build.sh, gorm_bool_main.go) to backend/scripts/legacy/. All moves via git mv to preserve history. Build, vet, SQLite tests, and docker compose config verified.
GoChat Docker Compose Quickstart
This directory starts a local GoChat stack for manual business validation:
- GoChat API on
http://127.0.0.1:3000 - PostgreSQL + pgvector
- Redis
- Meilisearch
- Mailhog SMTP/Web UI
- Optional deterministic seed data
It is intended for local/UAT quickstart, not hardened production deployment.
Prerequisites
- Docker Engine with Compose v2 (
docker compose version) - Free local ports:
3000,5432,6379,7700,1025,8025
If those ports conflict, edit .env after copying .env.example.
Start
cd deploy/quickstart
cp .env.example .env
docker compose up -d --build
Wait until GoChat is healthy:
docker compose ps
docker compose logs -f gochat
curl -fsS http://127.0.0.1:3000/health
Seed Demo Data
docker compose --profile seed run --rm seed
Default login after seeding:

changeme
Change these values in .env before running the seed command if needed.
Useful Commands
# Follow all logs
docker compose logs -f
# Restart GoChat only
docker compose restart gochat
# Stop without deleting data
docker compose down
# Reset all local data

Notes
- GoChat runs migrations automatically on startup with
GOCHAT_DATABASE_RUN_MIGRATIONS=true. - The production image includes
/app/migrations; GoChat runs them automatically on startup in this quickstart stack. - Meilisearch uses the quickstart key from
.env; change it before sharing this stack. - Mailhog Web UI is available at
http://127.0.0.1:8025.
